Making our opening Credits

As a group we wanted to have a font that was childlike as our thriller opening is mostly based on a young girl being troubled and rather disturbed, this is also so the audience can almost guess that the film is based around a young child.

I selected a new video project and then downloaded the font I wonted off http://www.dafont.com/ which was called kid type writer; we chose this font because we felt it best suited a child’s handwriting

I created and inserted each opening credit one by one and then dragged them into the video sequence making them the length in seconds I wanted them to stay on the screen. I wanted the credits to have a more shadowy look so I added a simple effect.

Final Film Treatment

A young girl called Angelica has been constantly been tormented by the death of her father. As her mother was always at work Angelica and her sister grew a close connection with him as he was always the parent that took them to school in the morning and them to bed at night. Angelica and Amelia recently lost their father to cancer. Angelica being the closest to her father is tormented by her father’s death and struggles to come to terms with his death.
Angelica cannot stand men and will do anything in her power to get rid of them.
Their mother works very long hours and with the lack of a good income, Angelica and Amelia are left alone to fend for themselves most of the time. To make some money, the family rents out rooms in their own house. As the mother is busy working, it is up to the girl to greet the new custumers that will be renting out a room in their house. Whilst Amelia is waiting in the house, Angelica is however outside reminiscing the times with her father.

She sees Fabio entering the house and only time will tell what happens between them.

Finalising our Shots for our two minute opening

Going through all the shots, changing concepts, changing scenes we have finally decided what we want to be shown in the two minutes of our thriller and today we filmed all the shots we needed before we start to edit. here is overview of the shots we have decided to use.

Last Location Report

Due to us using less footage and taking most of our filming outdoors we have created a new set of location photos using Wendy as our model for our pictures of where our cast would be filmed. Here are the picture of the outdoor filming we are going to use.

Serene 'Angelica' will be sitting here looking at an old photo of her father and herself. Here she will will be reminscing the times she had with her father and also gets quite emotional.

This is where Angelica see Fabio going into her home.

This is where Fabio walks into Angelica's home.

This is a picture of Wendy pressing the doorbell where Fabio will enter.

A Slight Change in our Thriller

We haven't changed the actual theory of our thriller we still are keeping it a psychological, however we realised that the shots that we proposed to use for the two minutes give away too much of the story away in such a short space of time. We realised that will use half of what we have filmed in our actual two minutes so it would make the audience more willing to want to watch more.

We came to the conclusion that we would re film for the third time, just focusing on exterior shots. What we mean is that, we will only film when Fabio is walking to the house and Angelica looking at her photo outside and then discovering Fabio walking directly to her house. We felt that this doesn't give away too much of the story ad it means that we can play around with the variety of shots we could possibly do.

We hope now after this third round of filming, we have all the correct shots and are finally able to edit and create our two minute psychological thriller opening.

Our Second Day of Filming

Our second day of filming was very successful and we got all the shots we need to including our new cast member Eloise, who embodied her character very well. Here are some picture's from our filming that day.

The above picture's are of all of us filming at various parts of the day.

Change in Cast

Sadly, due to un forseen circumstances, Rebecca Redding was not able to take part in our thriller movie opening. This creates a major problems as we had already started filming scene's with Rebecca but we have no choice but to use another person as a replacement. This meant re- filming parts of our thriller but Eloise was a great replacement and we looked forward to working with her.

Name: Eloise Larkin-Hinds
She attends St Anne's Sixth and is studying Media, Health and Social and Buisness at A Level. We felt she suited the role as the mother as she looks like she could fit the profile of Amelia's mother and  she acts very sophisticated. Eloise also took Drama for GCSE giving us the upper hand as she kind of new what she was doing and did not need much direction.

Name:Kevin Lopez
Unfortuntualy Kevin could not be part of our filming any longer and also due to us deciding we would only be using outdoor shots we no longer needed him.

Filming Day One

We started filming the scenes for our thriller in early March as the weather was nice and we could get a whole day of filming in. However, we felt that some of the shots were slightly shaky and we decided to re-film some scenes the week.
here are some picture's of the shots we filmed today:

The pictures I have taken are of various different part of our thriller. The first picture is of Fabio and Andres walking to the shop window where they find a advert for a room that they believe could be temporarily a home for them. the second picture is of Fabio and Andres going to view their possible new home. Picture four is of our main character Serene ( Angelica ) looking very troubled and you can also see in picture six Angelica is very withdrawn with is perfect as our thriller is a physiological thriller.

Casting Shots

Name: Rebecca Redding as 'Amelia'
Age: 18
Works Full Time as a Life Guard

Rebecca has an AS Grade in Drama and there has experience in acting, and we felt as a group this would be a asset to our thriller. Rebeccca looks very mature for her age and fits the profile of  someone who would be able to look after a younger sibling and would play the role of Angelica's older sister very well.

Name: Serene Foster as 'Angelica'
Age: 15
Student at St Annes Catholic High School For Girls, Palmers Green, London.
We felt that Serene would best fit the character of Angelica as she is very soft features and curly hair makes her look very young and conveys feelings of innocence. Serene has experiecnce of acting in local plays so was able to follow direction very easily without us need to promt her.
Name: Ciaran Savage as 'Fabio'
Age: 16
Student at St Ignatius Sixth Form, Enfield
Ciaran looks extremly mature for his age which means he looks as if he could have a young sibling or possibly a young child. This is what we are looking for to play as someone renting a room would need to be of atleast 18.

Name : Kevin Lopez
Kevin is a 9 year old boy and is also the brother of one of the girls in our group.

Location Report

The exterior scene of Daddy's little girl will be filmed across the road from Wendy's house and the local off licence on that same road in Edmonton. All the filming dine outside was done near Wedny's house as it made it alot easier nit having to change loaction.

Here we have used Wendy as our model to give a insight on where we did all our filming.

Improved Film Treatment - Take Two

A young girl called Angelica has been constantly tormented by the death of her father. As her mother was always at work Angelica and her sister grew as close connection with him as he was always the parent that took them to school in the morning and put her to bed at night. Angelica and Amelia are sisters who have recently lost her father to Cancer; suffering from depression they are both constantly tormented by his death. They mother works very long hours and with the lack of a good income Angelica and Amelia are left alone to fend for themselves most of the time. Angelica and Amelia are trying to come to terms with their loss and are left alone to greet the new costumers that will be renting out the space room in their family home to help bring in some more money.
With Angelica being the youngest she is finding it the hardest to cope with it all. Angelica and her sister reflect by looking at pictures of their father but one day it all gets the better of her and Amelia and she becomes very drawn into herself, barley communicating with anyone. After recently posting a vacancy for a room in a shop window the girls get a call from a man called Fabio who has a 7 year old son called Andres and want to move in as soon as possible.

Amelia arranges for the Fabio and Andres to come a view the room at midday and they both wait for their arrival. As midday is approaching the doorbell rings for the boys to view the room. They all sit down to discuss prices and the contract for being a tenant. As Amelia and Angelica finalise the first payment, Amelia offers to get Andres a drink while Angelica shows Fabio to his room. A sudden slam of a door is heard upstairs and a very loud scream. After 5minutes Angelica runs down the stairs with her hands covered in blood, a smile emerges upon her face as laughing is heard from the downstairs room where Amelia cradles Andres.
